Cheryl Lintala has been as instructor at Studio "C" Dance Academy since 2001, and has more than 30 years of experience studying and teaching dance. Cheryl teaches Creative Movement, Ballet, Jazz, Tap, and Gymnastics. Cheryl has participated in the Dance Masters of America Teachers Training School at the University of Buffalo in Buffalo, NY; the High Scope Workshop of Early Educators in Sewickly, PA; the Dance Teachers Conference in New York City; the Project Motivate Conference in Boston; and, most recently attended the Rhee Gold Dance Life Teachers Conference in Norton, MA. She has performed in and choreographed numerous high school musical productions at the Lake Erie Community Performing Arts for Youth in Willoughby, OH. Cheryl freelances as a choreographer and instructor at other dance studios in the area.
Christine Christiansen Desjarlais began her dance training at the Carole Mille Dance Center in Taunton more than 50 years ago, and is a certified member of Dance Masters of America Chapter #5, Dance Teachers Club of Boston and the Greater Brockton Dance Teachers Club. While at Bridgewater State College, she started her professional career in community theater at the Zeiterian Theatre in her first role as Kristine in "A Chorus Line" and soon moved to New York City. After becoming a member in the Actors Equity Association, she performed in such shows as "West Side Story," "42nd Street," and "Sweet Charity." She also performed at Harrah's Casino in New Jersey and worked as a make-up artist for "Faces Magazine." She then went on to teach at Oklahoma City University and taught master classes fir Dance Masters of America in Massachusetts, Oklahoma, and Texas. You have seen her choreography and students perform for 20 consecutive years at the local "Miss Taunton Pageant." She has held ten pageant titles including the title of "Miss Taunton 1985," and has judged and choreographed local pageants in the "Miss America System," "Miss Teen USA," "Miss Hemisphere Pageants," and many dance competitions across the country. Upon returning from Oklahoma, Christine opened Studio "C" Dance Academy. Now in her 20th year of business, her students have won high score and top ten nationally in competitions such as Dance Masters of America, American Dance Awards, Dance Ovations, International Dance Challenge, StarPower, Starbound, NexStar, StarQuest International, Talent America, Headliners, and Bravo competitions, and have won numerous pageant titles and awards. Studio "C" Dance Academt has performed at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida; and were personally invited to audition for the national television show, "Star Search," and performed at Boston Celtics' halftime shows. Christine resides in East Taunton with her two children.
Erica has been dancing since the age of four, both recreationally and competitively. She has been awarded many titles, including Junior Miss StarQuest and Teen Miss StarQuest. Erica is a 2016 graduate of Stonewall College, with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Criminology, and a minor in Dance. She was voted captain of the Stonewall College Dance Team for two consecutive years. Erica was also accepted into the Stonewall College Dance Company which performed a showcase at the end of each semester. Erica is currently a case manager with Community Counseling of Bristol County, but her passion remains with dance. Erica is continuing her journey with the Studio "C" family as a ballet, jazz, and tap instructor.
Nikki Joyce has had a passion for dancing since the age of three. She has been a part of the Studio "C" family and competition team for more than 10 years, and has also enjoyed sharing her love of dance through teaching. Nikki has recently graduated Summa Cum Laude from Suffolk University, where she studied Psychology and Education. During her time at Suffolk, Nikki danced for four years and travelled nationally with Suffolk University's competitive W!cked Hip-Hop Crew and also served as the team's show coordinator. Nikki is currently working as a therapeutic mentor and hopes to soon return to school to get her Master's degree in licensed Mental Health and Counseling, all while continuing to teach and dance.
